Why Are Image Sliders Bad for SEO?

The image slider is a popular way to display content on a website. It’s easy to use and can be placed anywhere on your site, so it’s an effective tool for improving your seo company Ontario score. But there are some things you should know about image sliders before using them as part of your content strategy.

Even though both SEO experts and conversion experts agree that sliders are rarely used, website developers insist on including sliders in their themes. Customers have described slider themes as “outdated,” but we strongly disagree. Let’s be clear: sliders are terrible. Let me explain why they stink once more.

Sliders slow your site down.

Your seo company Ontario performance is not the only thing that can be affected by image sliders. Sliders slow down your website, which means your users will have to wait longer for it to load and render.

They also take up more memory in the browser, so you won’t get as much out of each page view as if you had used a different style of page layout or design.

Sliders are also heavy on servers because they require additional HTTP requests every time they open and close (or slide through). This means that even if you don’t have too many images on each slider, there will still be heavy traffic hitting the server!

Sliders on your website are costing you conversions.

Sliders are a bad user experience. They’re difficult to navigate, read and interact with. They take up space that could be used for more valuable content (a video or an article), and they require an action from the user before they can see what the slider is about — which means you have lost some potential conversions at this point in time.

Sliders are also difficult to share because there is no clear way for people who aren’t familiar with your brand or product line to know what information belongs in each section of the slide.

The worst part about sliders is that they’re often accompanied by videos which can make them even harder for people who don’t follow along well because it’s hard enough watching one video without having another one pop onto the screen at random intervals!

Sliders deliver little to no value to the customer

Sliders are often used for branding and navigation. They may not be the best choice for calls-to-action, as they don’t always work well with button text.

Sliders can deliver value to customers in cases where they want information or a quick overview of a page’s content but are not looking for any specific piece of information or functionality.

For example: if you’re selling shoes online and have an image slider that shows all the different styles available on your site (and how many pairs you currently have), this will help people find what they’re looking for faster than if you had just list each style individually without any visual context.

Sliders are hardly accessible.

Sliders are hardly accessible to people with disabilities. It’s not just about the fact that you can’t see the content on a slider but also because there are no keyboard shortcuts for navigating through sliders with your mouse.

That means that if you don’t have the time or money to hire an accessibility-minded web developer, then it will be practically impossible for you to use sliders effectively.

Conclusion

Sliders are bad for SEO because they do not display the full content of the page. They only show one small portion of a page with no additional context on what it is about.

Don’t use sliders in your website unless there’s really a good reason why it should be done this way instead of using tags or some other method that doesn’t break search engine optimisation (SEO).
